Opening Day For the Colton Muckdogs
March 20th 2010 @ 10:00 AM Opening Day. The worlds guarantee that winter is finally over, that overcoats and hoodies can be abandoned in closets and that six months of pent-up energy and expectations can finally bloom on the playing field. Under a crystal-clear blue sky, hundreds of players will gather at Veterans Park Colton Ca. The ball field will soon be filled with groups representing all 10 divisions. Players will stand behind banners listing “T-Ball,” “Girls’ Softball” and “Majors A. The day’s program will start with the traditional singing of the national anthem. Welcoming speeches with and emphasis on the League’s importance to the community. Local news papers will be on hand to take pictures then it's time to trow out the first pitch and the season will officially be underway.
